This is my NaNoWriMo journal. NaNoWriMo means National Novel Writing Month. It's a contest I've chosen to sign up for. The goal? Write a 175 paged/50,000 words novel in thirty days. The contests lasts from November 1st to November 30th.
Basically, this journal is just where I'm going to post what I write everyday. It's a way for anyone who chooses to read my story can read it, and my friends whom I force to read my story can read it here, too. Instead of me cluttering my actual journal with it. Yeah.
Now that I'm done rambling, I guess I can actually tell about Sinking, the story I'm writing for NaNoWriMo '06.
Sinking is, in short, a vampire story. It's about the vampire brothers Rhys and Kai and the human girl (temporarily named) Stella. It's fantasy set in a real historical event, the sinking of the Empress of Ireland, a ship that set sail for its final, fatal time in May 1914. The story begins in 1913 with a bet and a promise of pain of death. Well, re-death. Rhys and Stella end up on the Empress with two entirely different intentions, but maybe Rhys has what Stella needs and Stella definitely has what Rhys needs -- blood, plain and simple. Sinking is classified as a historical fiction, fantasy, romance, and suspense.
